GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

I liked a lot about this small town school. The community was always there for you and you grew up with the same 20 people in your class. I had a group of really close friends growing up and a best friend since the 5th grade. All of the teachers actually care about you and you're able to tell. They try making lessons fun and still educational. A few things I wish were diffrent is if we had more diversity. Almost everyone there is white and it kind of sucks, but the school can't really control that. Also the food was pretty bad, it felt like we were still stuck in the 80's with the meals. I don't feel like I was properly prepared for college either.

I love Idaho CIty and its small community and how everyone is family. It's a great school, in general, it's just we have a lot of students who could care less about their education and yet we still have a good school.

Great schools.org rating is obviously objective and paints a skewed perception. This method of evaluation cannot touch the intangible qualities or benefits of smaller institution learning environments. The importance of small classroom interaction, personalized attention from involved educators that...

My four children graduated from high school here after going all the way through from kindergarten. We have an amazing, supportive school board and administration. The superintendent and principals of both the elementary and high school are proactive and innovative in their approaches to discipline...

As a parent, I was happy to see the high school support my son's desire to challenge himself academically. He was able to have a very unique class schedule which allowed him to complete his associate degree while in high school.
