I transferred during my junior year of high school because I connected with the people on the bowling team. I was amazed by the loving environment and those people became like a second family to me. I have made many friends and I'm delighted I decided to transfer. My mental health is better for it and I'm happier than ever before. My education is also taken beyond high school with online and on-campus college classes for dual enrollment credits. I never would have guessed in just two years I would've taken enough college courses to complete a whole year of college before I enter in person. I also have been allowed to get my childhood education certification when I graduate which allows me to walk across the stage at a Community College the same year I graduate high school. My experience here has been nothing shy of amazing. The only thing I hope to see change is some of the effort levels of some teachers who don't teach the students as much as they should.

The school is fairly new and quite large for the area. Its located in one of the safest towns in Iowa and its overall very good at academic readiness.

My experience in high school was pleasant. I tried the whole having a bunch of friends thing but I realized I only needed to have one good friend, and I found that. I enjoyed going to school but I wish that Independence had more opportunities for the students to give feedback that would actually effected how the school operated. I feel that the students should be consulted more because they are essentially the whole reason why the school is there in the first place.
