GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

I think overall it was pretty good. It's basically an average high school. Most of the teachers were nice and understanding. The workload was normally manageable.

My experience at Independence High School has been a memorable one. Overall it has been a very good experience that made me grow as a person. This school district is unique because of the size. You walk down the halls and know everyone. Teachers are your friends parents and you have known these kids since primary school. Everyone knows everything about you. The only complaint I have is how small the school is. That is not the schools fault but I wish it was different. Some days I wish I did not get stopped in the hallway by everyone but I will miss that when I go to college. My four years at IHS have been the best years of my life so far and I would speak good of this school to anyone who asks.

I love the activities offered. I participate in band, biology society, monopoly club, student council, and swimming. All of the clubs are well-managed, fun, and of a reasonable price. The commitment for different activities ranges based on what clubs you join.

There are not a wide range of classes to choose from, and only one foreign language. This sets your child up for a disadvantage. Th...
