GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Southport might be looked at as a school that doesn't win a lot of things whether that is for STEM, choir, band or for any sports but we strive to keep fighting for those wins because in the end that is what makes the fight and hard work worth it.

Southport high School has lots of options to choose from when it comes to what pathways you want to choose. Also many different classes you can take that interest you the best. I didn't really have any bad experiences there but I would like to see more clubs to join. They have good administrators and counselors you can go to anytime you need anything or have questions.

I feel like overall it is a good school besides the students. The teachers are great, the lessons are well thought out and it is super diverse. I just feel as if the students bring a bad mojo to the school causing fights, vaping, weed, etc. making it seem like a bad school. It is located in a good area, and the extra curriculars are nice.
