Jackson Senior High School is a place where I've experienced a lot of good and a lot of bad at the same time. The majority of my teachers are kind, helpful, and good at teaching, but I know others have had worse times. While I've had a fun time taking band, the lack of funding put towards it is disheartening, especially when it does truly seem to all go to football instead. What else can I say? It's Jackson High School.

Jackson is a great school with strong school spirit, but it is incredibly overcrowded. The teachers and administrators have almost no time for the individual students, and people get left behind.

If I were to explain high school I would say it is heaven and hell, a wonderful experience and a haunting nightmare. The best of both worlds. The peak of popularity and low of self-esteem. The building of character, at the expense of confidence. Kill or be killed might be dramatic but so are teenagers. The American dream some might say...high school. It might be hasty to say im loving Senior year so far but my high school experience overall has been good. I wake up far too early for my liking but I get to spend all day with my friends. I love my life being on a schedule and school provides that structure. I hope this was positive because I truly do enjoy high school. However, I don't believe something can really be good if there isn't some bad. So, I provided the pros and cons of high school, the "heaven" and the "hell" of the experience. The good tops the bad by far for me, though, and that's all that matters.

Ineffective leadership which promotes bullying, racism, and discrimination of children of color and with any type of disability. If your child has an IEP find another school as you will not be supported on any level.

This school is horrible if you are a person with an IEP. This school removed child’s IEP and refused to provide anyasssitnace. Instead they placed chil in Alt. School as a way to ignore the IEP requirements. Furthermore if you are a person of color forget about being treated fair in this district. I...

The teachers and staff are extremely dedicated to the growth and progression of students. I attended Jackson Schools from 1-12th Grade and have nothing but praise for the district. New, forward thinking administration has helped tremendously!
