Built in 1969, The Education Center School's beginning was five years earlier, influenced by the desire of founder Martha Thomas Kabbes to prove the effect of smaller classroom settings on individualized instruction and eventual academic performance. This has remained the working principle of the school as students are, right from admission and enrollment, involved in the fashioning of an education plan customized to their needs and future aspirations. Accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, this private school currently has 154 students and 14 full-time teachers, giving a student-to-teacher ratio of 11-1. The school has Grades 1-12, with most of its student population in the 12th grade. With a rolling admission policy, the school faculty are always ready to take on the responsibility of guiding students toward success. Students with learning challenges receive the specialized support needed to maximize their potential. The school buildings divide between administrative blocks, classrooms and extracurricular activities the students are involved in, such as the student council, the school newsletter, "Wings," the speech and debate club, poetry club, art club, science club and more. With these provisions, ECS students experience spectrums of art, science and languages. Their achievements are celebrated within and outside the school and precede them in their college applications.

The Education Center offers the student the ability to customize their education in a self paced environment. Very good teacher student ratio. A little expensive but worth it.
