FOUNDED IN 1923, THE ASSUMPTION CATHOLIC SCHOOL OF JACKSONVILLE HAS GONE THROUGH MANY CHANGES AND ADDITIONS OVER THE YEARS TO MAKE IT THE THRIVING SCHOOL IT IS TODAY. CENTRALLY LOCATED NEAR DOWNTOWN JACKSONVILLE, AND ADJOINING THE CAMPUS OF BISHOP KENNY HIGH SCHOOL, ASSUMPTION HAS OVER 600 STUDENTS IN PRESCHOOL THROUGH 8TH GRADE. OVER THE YEARS, THE ASSUMPTION CATHOLIC SCHOOL HAS MAINTAINED IT’S COMMITMENT TO ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE, AND THE THREEFOLD PURPOSE OF CHRISTIAN EDUCATION: MESSAGE, COMMUNITY AND SERVICE.
AT ASSUMPTION, STUDENTS ARE OFFERED A VARIETY OF CURRICULUM IN ADDITION TO FORMAL STUDIES, INCLUDING SPANISH, ART, DRAMA, MUSIC, MEDIA RESEARCH, TECHNOLOGY, AND PHYSICAL EDUCATION. STUDENTS ARE ALSO GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY TO PARTICIPATE IN TEAM SPORTS SUCH AS BASKETBALL, SOCCER, VOLLEYBALL, CHEERLEADING, SOFTBALL AND CROSS COUNTRY.
THE PHILOSOPHY OF EDUCATION AT ASSUMPTION CATHOLIC SCHOOL IS BASED ON THE GUIDELINES OF THE DIOCESE OF ST. AUGUSTINE.
