GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Johnsburg is a small school in a rural community. It is lacking in student diversity along with curriculum diversity. An example of the lacking curriculum is only offering one foreign language.

As a student who has attended Johnsburg schools my whole life, I have definitely had a better high school experience than most other students. While some of the students there are interesting individuals every school has some. The staff are very friendly, and I have never had a truly boring class. The school has even offered me job opportunities to get into my fields of interest early.

I think that Johnsburg High School set me up to succeed in the best way a high school can. I learned a lot not only from required classes but classes that I got to choose and those classes helped me learn a lot about myself and what I wanted to do.

This school seems to put sports and activities ahead of learning. My daughter is not challenged by any teachers, never has any homework and somehow walks away easily with all A's. Even in the areas she struggles in such as English, she walks away with easy A's and I have to put in the extra effort a...

This school has been an exemplary place of learning for both of my children. The teachers have encouraged and built into their futures, helping and directing toward college. The older student is now a junior in college and still keeps in touch with many of her teachers. As a previous home schooler,...

This school is good if you want to be bullied and harassed day in and day out. Worst school district.

This is one of the worst schools I have ever encountered. Children are just passed onto the next grade, even when grades are not earned. The community is more concerned about a football score than if the children are going to actually become something one day. Driver's Ed is given to students who ar...
