Josiah Quincy Elementary School serves prekindergarten through fifth grade, providing a rigorous academic program for roughly 750 students living within and near the Chinatown neighborhood of Boston.
A unique feature of this Elementary School is that it offers Mandarin language instruction for all students. Native English-speaking children have the rare opportunity to learn the second most spoken language in the world from a young age. The school also offers a Sheltered English Immersion program for children who are learning the English language. Best: The teachers here are nice. Worst: The worst part about the school is some of the teachers like the new hired ones and old teachers that been teaching for years can be very annoying or strict. Sometime you don't get what their intentions are but i personally hate them. Changes: I want to see more languages classes added to the school like french, german, ect. there's only 2 types that you can pick, mandarin and Spanish.

One thing i like about Josiah Quincy Upper is how welcoming the teachers and the communities are. One thing i would change about this school is the interior design like the windows looks so old and the heaters as well, they barely work.

They should help students prepare for college more. At times it feels like that's are holding your hand through everything and we as student developed reliance without realizing.

My sister is a student of this school and I would just like to say that I think she could do better in another school. This school has excellent academic standards and rigor -- as well as and an opportunity for kids to partake in a variety of Physical Education modes - including swimming from 2nd Grade up.
