I learned a lot more about my native culture here than anywhere else. In addition, I had a lot of opportunities that I took to attend college classes during my high school years. It was a good high school experience; in addition, they were making changes before I left to improve their integration of Hawaiian culture into their curriculum.

I would like to change some of the teachers. Some of them fell like they have more power over you because they have strong egos.

Teachers at Kanu are great because they don't just do it for the money. They do it cause they want us the students to reach their highest protential.

As far as education is concerned Kanu just doesn't have what it takes. They fail to teach their students in an effective manner which is clearly visible in their test scores, which are comparable to those of the failing public schools in Hawaii.
