Knoxville Catholic High School’s rich history dates back to a dream and a Victorian mansion in 1932 when the Sisters of Mercy opened a co-ed Catholic High School on Magnolia Avenue in Knoxville, Tennessee.
Today, Knoxville Catholic High School, known as KCHS, maintains an expansive, nearly 40-acre campus in the Cedar Bluff neighborhood on Fox Lonas Road.
Nearly 700 students in grades nine through 12 at this private school take on a rigorous curriculum combined with extracurricular activities, community service, traditional Catholic teachings, and the ability for juniors and seniors to take advanced placement classes.
There are more than 40 clubs at KCHS, and student-athletes can participate in football, volleyball, golf, cheerleading, dance, and soccer. KCHS also hosts a series of themed camps open to the public each summer. KCHS accepts both Catholic and non-Catholic students, though all students are expected to participate in religion classes and mass.
The admissions process for first-year students at Knoxville Catholic High School begins in the fall of their eighth-grade year when the KCHS begins accepting applications for the following fall. Applicants are then invited to attend a tailgate and a visit day where they shadow current KCHS students. Following a placement test in early winter, students are notified of their acceptance status beginning in the spring.

The thing I liked best about Knoxville Catholic High school was the way teachers cared for their students. Whether it was tutoring at lunch or staying after school the teachers are always willing to go above and beyond for their students.

Was a great fit. Awesome teachers who poured all their time into their students. Focused on each student and wanted the best for them. As well as amazing. Counselors tho led each student to their success.

Knoxville Catholic is a great, smaller school that immensely prepared me for college academics. The community is welcoming and Catholicism is a strong component of life here.
