Sharing a sprawling campus with Kyrene de las Brisas, its sister elementary school, Kyrene Aprende Middle School sits in the heart of its community, across from scenic Desert Breeze Park in West Chandler. With a mission to “empower all students as 21st century learners,” this A+ School of Excellence serves students in grades six to eight as part of the Kyrene School District.
Often ranking among the top middle schools in Arizona, Kyrene Aprende earns test scores in reading and math well above the state average. To achieve this distinction, the school offers Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) — a college-prep approach to learning that focuses on writing, asking questions and collaborating, as well as study skills and organization.
To encourage better social skills and more positive peer relationships, AVID incorporates the Socratic method, whereby college students, adults or peers give tutorials twice a week to facilitate discussion, not debate. Plus, students enjoy more immersive learning through field trips and guest-speaker seminars.
To help students thrive as teams. Kyrene Aprende hosts a robust athletics program that offers soccer, volleyball, cross country, basketball, softball, baseball, cheer, wrestling, and track and field. Plus, students can participate in numerous extracurricular clubs and activities, ranging from engineering and National Junior Honors Society to yearbook and student council.

The teachers are horrible they form of communication with them and the principal throw it out the window I waited all year never got to speak to the principal always an issue . This school is awful. The students are much more disrespectful to adults than at other schools I've been too. Stubborn, distracted kids. The cliques run rampant, as does the drama. I know many of these problems persist in other schools, but believe me- this one takes the cake for BS
