This schools diversity allowed me to be comfortable and seen as a woman of color coming from Tonga. I was able to adapt well to the environment due to the help of the students who gladly welcomed me and the teachers for their understanding. The only problem I have was the facilities because their restrooms always be having problems and get broken easily.

Lahainaluna was such a fun experience for me. I moved to Lahaina town and became a boarder just to go to school there and it was one of the best things for me. The worst part was that I was away from my family and the best was the friends I made there. They really became my family. One thing to change is probably the food, sometimes. They could've done more to one main choice.

This school helped me in a lot of different ways, not just in education. I learned about community here, what it is like to have to such a close knit school. I was able to be myself at LHS. I could be myself in front of the entire school and they would all cheer me on. I think if I went to a different school, I wouldn't be the person I am proud to be nowadays.

I was a Four Year Boarder at Lahainaluna. I graduated in 2009 with academic honors. I am now attending the University of Montana with academic scholarships. No other school can even come close to Lahainaluna and the tradition that we hold. I came to Lahainaluna at the age of 13 from the Big Island,...
