This school is extremely fragile. Due to the extreme fragility there are many missed days of school. It rains and the sewer pump goes out, multiple times. The wind blows and heater goes out. A storm rolls in and the power goes out. Internet and phone connection are very unstable. All of these constant problems result in many missed school days.

I deeply regretted attending this school and because of the lack of resources and support I was unable to achieve goals such as volunteering opportunities to put on my college application. The environment of the school put my mental health in jeopardy and I struggled to fit in due to my race amongst the majority of my peers. There were a select few of teachers who I maintain a good relationship with but a majority of them would reprimand me and offer little support to my struggles in school because of my learning disabilities. If I could redo high school at a different school and county I would immediately accept.

Lake Lure Classical Academy is a public-charter school located in the beautiful town of Lake Lure. In my eleven years at this school, I overall had a good experience with the education provided, students, and staff members. It has its positive aspects and its negative aspects, however, it has done me right in my education.

This school is not challenging. Many days spent sitting around with nothing to do. Especially for those enrolled in college courses. LLCA has been a great school for my kids. They started in middle school- get personalized attention and every teacher gets to know them well. EOG test scores have all been 4’s and 5’s and they stay busy with sports and activities. Coming from a big school district to here, can highly recommend.
