Part of the Duval County School System, Lake Shore Middle School serves more than 1,000 sixth through eighth grade students. In addition to its core curriculum, Lake Shore Middle School has introduced S.T.E.A.M., offering elective courses in science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics. The school also offers a free after-school enrichment program that provides homework help, arts and crafts, community speakers and meals. Students with intellectual and development disabilities will find extra support in the Best Buddies Program, a global volunteer organization that creates one-on-one friendships. As part of Lake Shore’s holistic approach to education, students are encouraged to be physically fit. There are opportunities for team sports, including football, basketball, soccer, baseball and track and field. The arts are also an integral part of Lake Shore student life with elective courses and clubs for band, chorus, fine art, TV production and theater. The Lake Shore Warriors are a community of achievers with winning sports teams, student enrichment programs and a dedicated faculty.
