Emerson Elementary is the largest elementary school in the Lakewood City School District. The school serves 334 students in grades PreK-5. The administrators, teachers, and staff at Emerson work together to provide an environment in which students are engaged and enriched. The curriculum also prioritizes creating opportunities for students to learn and enact leadership skills.
In addition to receiving education in the core academic subjects of math, language arts, science, and social studies, students at Emerson have opportunities to excel in fine arts and physical education. Take a walk down the school’s hallways during the annual Emerson Art and Music Festival, and you might see student artwork inspired by the masters of art, like Piet Mondrian or George Seurat. Students interested in sports can participate in basketball games against other Lakewood elementary schools or join in extracurricular clubs for sports like track and field.
Emerson Elementary is proud to house a book vending machine. Students earn gold coins from teachers and staff and can use those coins to exchange for picture books, chapter books, or other age-appropriate texts. This creates a fun, unique way for students to choose and own their reading development.
Emerson is also supported by an engaged parent-teacher organization. The PTO organizes drop-in times for parents to help teachers prepare for classroom activities, as well as scheduled events and snack drop-offs to brighten staff’s days.

One of the worst schools I have ever been to. So messy and there were so many mean kids there. The only thing I liked there was the food, but it still wasn't very good. I would never recommend this school to anyone.
