At Harding Middle School, sixth through eighth grade students are challenged and nurtured toward academic and social growth. Harding is one of two public middle schools in Lakewood and is located about six blocks from the Rocky River.
Harding ensures thorough instruction across the core academic subjects and provides opportunities for students to dive deeper into topics that interest them. Teachers design creative projects to help contextualize learning. For example, seventh graders work on a Dream Home Project and a Probability Archery Project to demonstrate their understanding of math skills.
Students can participate in Harding News, a weekly video news program created and presented by middle-schoolers. Other students might opt to participate in an extracurricular club; there are 25 options, including Yearbook, Gardening Club and Chess Club. Harding offers football, cross-country, volleyball, cheer, basketball, wrestling, track and softball for those who wish to play a sport.
Students are expected to work hard and show their best efforts. Teachers encourage and reward achievement by recognizing hard work and including fun events like trips to Dairy Queen or a kickball tournament. Students connect in more formal ways as well. New sixth graders are paired with experienced eighth grade mentors in the TRADITIONS program each year. These connections build students’ sense of community and continuity as they progress through each year at Harding.

The staff at Harding won't do anything but play dumb when comes to bullying. " We haven't gotten any reports or seen anything" is trained response you'll get every time. I give this school a hard F for failure to provide a safe learning environment.

I hate this school, the principal and vice principal don't care about the students AT ALL. My sister was being bullied a lot and we went up to the school and talked to the teachers and principal about it and they said they would fix it when all they did was give her a counselor. Harding Is Really Good with their Focus and Energy Classes! Right now I am an 8th grader at Harding Middle School and in all the advance placement classes. All of the teachers are really nice, but you really have to get used to the 6th grade teachers because they are a little more strict. But surely...
