GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Going to Lamar high school was great! Great staff. Some teachers are very helpful as though some are not. I had a great time being apart of things and all the fun activities! I just wish Lamar high school got me more prepared for college. When I got to being a freshman in college I felt as though I wasn't prepared in some ways. But other than that Lamar high school is a great school!

Overall I have found my time at Lamar High School to be very enjoyable. The academics are done well, although they are overshadowed by sports. The culture here is a bit down due to a rift between the student body and administration. This can lead to a negative atmosphere that can affect learning.

Not bad. Good teachers and good amount of classes. I've learned a lot here. Sometimes seems more focused on sports than academics, however.

When I attended as a student, it was much better. When my child attended, he had a horrible experience.
