I would say the best parts of Palo are the academics, emotional structure, and very clearly stated rules that they give us. With academics, being part of the IB Career Program has helped me not just with college applications and future career planning, but many personal and professional skills that are important in life. The emotional structure is also good here because many of the teachers care deeply about their students are all willing to talk to them about anything going on in their lives. This is when we get to the bad side of my experience. Many of the administrators and counselors here don't seem to genuinely care about students. I get yelled at in the hall if I don't have a pass because I left it in the classroom; they don't even try to simply talk to me and escalate straight to yelling. My counselor, Michelle Brown, has been stellar for the past four years, working with me to change my schedule and apply to schools, but many other students frequently complain about theirs.

I had a very memorable experience for all 4 years I was at Palo Verde. Found my love for music at this school.

Palo Verde High School was an excellent school for career and college readiness. The teachers at Palo Verde are intelligent and willing to help with whatever needs a student may have. They are also very accommodating to those with special needs or those who have active school events, student-athletes, or club members. The curriculum is held in high regard, and when it comes to going into my first year at college, I developed easier habits as the material is at a college-standard level.

Education: For me, I'm not too disappointed with the education I got as an AP/IB student. The upper level teachers are pretty motivated and supportive (especially the AP STEM department), and have helped me achieve admission into my reach schools. As for the Honors/Regular coursework experience, I'v...

Not impressed with this school at all. Two of my kids have gone here. Luckily one is graduating this year and I’ll have time to move so my son doesn’t have to graduate from the school as well. The teachers rarely show up to class, they engage in inappropriate conversations with the students about th...

This school actually sucks the education system is a full 2 YEARS behind the rest of the US and the inside of the school is always filthy because they don't have anyone to clean the building. The teachers here do their jobs but not all that well I can only think of about two teachers that actually e...

The administration makes it clear they do not care about the students well-being, or even that of their own teachers. Most of the counselors are not helpful towards bettering their students academic career and getting them on a successful path, especially counselor Dambro, who is aggressive towards...
