“Better together.” That’s the slogan Creekside Oaks Elementary School’s 447 students live by. Located in Lincoln, this public institution serves kindergarten through 5th graders.
Creekside Oaks Hawks are pushed to think critically and view learning as a lifelong endeavor. The school provides resources for English language learners in the form of English Language Development, and also offers a bilingual immersion program for students wishing to receive lessons in both English and Spanish. Creekside administrators push high achievers to test for the GATE program, a curriculum that delivers a more challenging learning experience.
As part of the statewide Universal Meals Program, Creekside Elementary offers a free nutritious breakfast and lunch for all students. Kids can also partake in a paid private or free public after school program. In the latter, students can opt into a range of enrichment activities such as gardening, STEM, and basketball.
Parents can become involved through the School Site Council (SSC), an elected board that ensures students’ learning enviroment is safe and supportive. They can also partake in the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO), which helps out during school events and makes positive changes for students.
