This school, part of the West Placer Unified School District, serves 428 students, from kindergarten through fifth grade. Since 2007, Lincoln Crossing Elementary School has been committed to academic and personal excellence. Dr. Denise Parnell, the school principal, states that the school is working hard to improve math proficiency, while also instilling a growth mindset within each student. Furthermore, teachers help students see failure and setbacks as learning opportunities. Lincoln Crossing Colts—the school’s mascot— are also provided with several chances to challenge themselves and build upon nascent skills. This is seen in the school’s Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) program, as well as its robust support for English language learners. Furthermore, the school offers mental health resources to uphold students’ socio-emotional well-being. Outside of regular school subjects, students can also become involved in Lincoln Crossing Elementary’s enrichment programs.
