Students at Lockhurst Elementary School are provided an abundance of academic and extracurricular offerings in order to help them thrive both in and outside of the classroom. The school’s progressive programs strive to improve learning for all students. In addition to a robust curriculum built on Common Core State Standards, Lockhurst Drive Charter Elementary School offers the School for Advanced Studies (SAS) and Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) programs to support educational options for eligible students. Critical and creative thinking skills are developed starting in kindergarten and progressing through to fifth grade.
Lockhurst Drive Charter Elementary School strives to integrate students with special needs to the maximum extent appropriate as time spent with their typical peers contributes greatly to their overall success. The Beyond the Bell (BTB) Branch Youth Services program provides an after school haven for students in second through fifth grades through wholesome, supervised enrichment, physical fitness and sport activities.
