Holy Spirit School (HSS) is a private, Catholic school providing education for students in preschool through eighth grade. Offering a strong foundational education for diverse learners in a Catholic environment, the school was named a national Blue Ribbon School of Excellence in 2007 and again in 2014.
In an effort to deepen their understanding of the school motto, To know, To Love, To Serve, students participate in a service learning project in partnership with Catholic Charities. Holy Spirit encourages community engagement through multiple charity organizations such as Blessings in a Backpack and the Community Catholic Center of Louisville. Personal responsibility and civic engagement are key tenants in the school community.
Holy Spirit School issues laptops to all students in grades six through eight. Students in grades 4 and 5 have access to laptops while in the classrooms, and younger students have access to iPads in the classroom. The school also has a computer lab.
Co-curricular opportunities available to older students include membership in the Junior National Honors Society, choir, and altar services. An after school enrichment program and a summer camp are also offered at Holy Spirit.
Spanish, arts, and religious studies are integrated into the curriculum throughout the grades.
