Sacred Heart Academy (SHA) is an all-girl Roman Catholic school located on the Ursuline Campus in Crescent Hill. The academy was founded on the core values of community, reverence, service, and leadership. SHA is surrounded by 48 acres of serene nature in the middle of the city, creating a unique setting for learning and development. SHA is an International Baccalaureate World School, offering both the Middle Years Programme and the Diploma Programme. SHA students have the option to choose from 38 college-level courses. This framework for teaching and learning is research-based, relevant, and real-world in order to provide a global, 21st-century education for every child. The SHA education is focused on inquiry and exploration instead of memorization. The intention is for SHA students to become problem solvers, creative thinkers, and innovators. SHA offers an impressive number of clubs for wide-ranging interests. Just a few examples are the Fandom Club, the Black Student Union, the Hack Club, and the VEX Robotics Club. There are many more available to help students find their interests. SHA also has many sports teams, including cheerleading, dance, cross-country, golf, lacrosse, basketball, and others. The academy offers retreats, camps, and summer programs for its students and community.

I loved my time at SHA, as well as now being a parent of a SHA student. The school is welcoming, inclusive and academically rigorous. SHA keeps up with the times, meaning they listen to the students wants and needs and are able to work with them to make their experience a positive one.

I loved the sisterhood created at Scared Heart Academy. I met so many amazing people and started to feel like I had a great community the last two years. Moreover, with the IB programmed I was challenged to the right level. However, I do feel like SHA can always work on being more apparent with what happens and try to work on being genuinely more diverse.

Our children have benefitted from an amazing Ursuline education. The teachers are supportive and willing to meet the needs of students in their classes. The IB approach to learning helped our children become thinkers and leaders.

Some exceptional teachers and solid curriculum. Very rote learning methods, though, lots of homework and cog in the wheel activities. Very good experience for us. She is motivated to excel in both academics as well as sports.
