Sacred Heart Model School is a coed catholic school serving students in grades k-8. Dating back to 1924, SHMS has a long, rich history of providing an innovative catholic education for young scholars. SHMS defines its mission clearly in this statement: “Sacred Heart Schools, a Catholic community rooted in the Ursuline tradition, inspires diverse learners to become globally minded, compassionate leaders.“ The school offers a small class size of between 12-15 and a student to teacher ratio of 9:1. The school is comprised of two separate programs: the Primary Years Programme and the Middle Years Programme.
The PYP school is an accredited International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP) in 2020. This school is guided by six themes of global significance: Who We Are, Where We Are in Place and Time, How We Express Ourselves, How the World Works, How We Organize Ourselves, and Sharing the Planet.
Using inquiry based curriculum, the MYP framework of learning encourages students to become creative, critical and reflective thinkers. All students exiting the MYP create an independent Personal Project. This capstone experience will highlight their communication, research, self-management and critical thinking skills.
Tuition for the 2020-2021 school year is $$15,665, with tuition assistance available.
