GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Moore County High School was a decent school for me. I liked the majority of teachers there and was able to learn and do well in school. I was #6 in my class. I was involved in football briefly and band since 7th grade. I think there is room for improvement in some areas, but overall I felt prepared for college and even attended Motlow College with the Dual Enrollment Program. The facilities are scheduled for improvements. The school building and technology are in need of updating. I was ready to graduate and go on to college.

I live in a pretty safe, conservative, religious, southern community, and those ideas are practiced at my school.

I attend a rather small school, and the clubs available are very active in the school and community. The problem we have is funding. The amount of money for the facilities and attending activities is not as funded as everyone wishes they would be.

Being a student at MCHS, I can comfirm that the food is terrible and over priced, we don't get enough food for our moneys worth, the arts programs are VERY neglected, the athletic programs get WAY TOO MUCH of the schools fundings, and the new renovations are extremely inconvenient for the students....

It is a mediocre school. It seems as if MCHS does not do anything to make themselves or their students stand out academically. While athletic programs are great here, you cannot always rely on athletic performances for a future. Moore County also needs to step up in what they feed their students wit...
