The school has turned into a place where as long as you suck up to the right people you will do great. No one holds students to the "core values" they always talk about but they just let them pretend. The Deans are a joke. They don't protect the victims but they protect the kids that are good at lies and hiding the truth of what they have done and continue to do. There is a lot of bullying that goes unaddressed. They don't do AP or college credit coming out of school so many elite kids are far behind their peers in college credits when they get to school. They sell based on the merit scholarships but they don't actually pay off and you spend just as much money on college as public school kids.

Derryfield School likes to pride itself on a community that is non-existent. They allow a culture of mean-spiritedness and immaturity to rage throughout the school. They choose to ignore the problems and their way of having kids work through conflict is completely juvenile. They allow kids to tear each other down and don't listen to kids with concerns about other kids whose parents make sizable donations to the school. They turn a blind to cheating and allow kids to inflate their grades by being dishonest. Though the teachers are well versed the administration is filled with unqualified people who have no place being in high power at the school. they have counselors with conflicted interests advising students. All around a school that you never want to go to when you wake up in the morning.

Derryfield is a great community. They welcome students and families without bias. The curriculum is extensive and the opportunity to stay involved in your community is vast.

My son is a new student and incoming junior. Not an easy transition for most but Derryfield welcomed my son with open arms. He has been received by his peers and found amazing support from the teachers and guidance counselors.

There are some teachers who are genuinely friendly and treat students equally, but this school needs to stop making rash decisions in who they hire. We've had some teachers and coaches that have proven to be bad influences on students by playing favorites and treating some students (especially stude...
