Manitou Springs High School is a very small school with about 500 total students. The school itself is pretty boring, and not much happens or changes there. The academics are ok, they offer a few AP classes but no IB classes. The counselors are pretty much useless so you have to figure out everything on your own. The students themselves are pretty cool. A lot of them have gone to school together since kindergarten, so they're all pretty close.

Manitou has great schools and because its a small Community you really get to know the teachers and staff. You form great relationships with your peers and teachers and have many class options.

I liked the accepting environment and the people I met there. However, I did find there was a lack of opportunity musically and academically. It also felt like administration priorities did not line up with the interests of the staff, student body, or community.

My student is an 11th grader at Manitou High School. He choiced into the district in the 9th grade. Overall, we have been fairly happy, because it is a smaller school, and you get all the pros and cons that come with that small-town feel.
