GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

There are a few good teachers, if there's no school work then you are just supposed to sit there. Overall it's an environment that isn't loved by many students.

At Mankato West, I struggled to feel like I belonged. I am a woman of color, and I've noticed that growing up, I have not seen very many fellow Indian women to relate to and befriend at any of my schools. I would like to see more diversity in Mankato schools, it would make things much easier for people of color such as myself. One thing I did like about Mankato West were the teachers, and how dedicated they were to teach their students the material.

The best part of West High School was the education. I was given the opportunity to take advanced classes. That helped further my studies. The worst part was the racism I experienced in the school. That isn't something the school is at fault for. If students are racist you can't really control that.
