I've been at Markham Woods Middle School for 3 years and my time there was well spent. I've grown into a better person and my teachers certainly guided me in the right path. The teachers really care for you. The environment of Markham is very judgmental. Markham is a very racially segregated school. The popular rich white kids hang out in one area while the less fortunate other raced kids hang out in one area. There's a lot of fights at Markham. Markham is a mix of rich kids and kids who aren't as fortunate and there is no in between and that's not a good mix. Markham is horrible with dealing with bullying and needs improvement with the safety for kids. Bullying is a huge problem.

The teachers served as very positive role models. They clearly desired us to succeed in class in order to prevail in our future. They incorporated personalized class discussions in which the character of each individual student was brought out somewhat. Overall, they were consistent in their grading styles, and properly and maturely communicated with us.

There was a cheerleading team, but it seemed to be poorly organized, and there also happened to be other poorly organized sports teams. The kids seemed to enjoy it, but our sports and clubs could have been of better quality.
