The worst drug problem I've ever seen. Rather than dealing with it, the school added metal detectors, which were never a problem. Just stood in line for an hour to get through the metal detectors. I had to take all the stuff out of my bag and hold it. Even if the metal detector didn't go off, they still searched your bag. I don't mind safety or metal detectors, but they had the worst system ever. One kid every ten minutes through the metal detector. Lines all the way around the school. All this while the smell of weed permeates the air, mixed with tropical fruit vape fumes. Also, the school lunch has no flavor. What do you mean you can't give us salt? Prisoners get fed better than this. Not even to start on the education. It's so bad. Students who don't do any work get grades they don't deserve, good students are put on the same level as them. One star, but there are some amazing teachers. The music and art programs are acceptable but horribly underfunded. please save yourself.

It is a good school academically with great teachers and they help the students academically. However, socially it is TERRIBLE it is conservative with very little tolerance for differences and there is a major bullying problem.

My experience at ola high school has had both positive and negative aspects. I enjoy the teachers and the students , but i think my overall introduction to highschool made it difficult for me . I have enjoyed making new friends and connections to teachers but getting used to the way highschool functions kinda made me struggle since i take AP and honors classes. I would love to see more diversity, for other latinos or people of color .
