It's a good school when it comes to diversity and socializing. It's easy to make friends when you get involved. The teachers are nice and they really care about your learning. The sports are okay but I think they can be better when it comes to coaches helping you be better.

Mckay has its ups and downs, but it feels like a student with more downs than ups. The art and music departments are amazing, but are going to take another hit to funding soon as the school wants to have phone jails that cost almost $250,000 for every student to have one, when we had a real level 3 lock down about 2-3 weeks ago.

Your experience attending McKay High school is all dependent on the people you surround yourself with. Personally I have had a pretty decent experience at McKay, I hang out with people who truly care about my well being, people who don't peer pressure me to do things I don't want to do. However not everyone has this same feeling at McKay because I will admit it is very easy to fall into the wrong groups of people. The teachers are always a hit or miss here. Most of them are young and fresh out of college, still trying to get a groove for teaching. There's nothing wrong with that of course but when over half your teachers are like this it makes it hard to learn. Academics is very easy as well, it only takes a 3.33 to recite an A. To succeed at McKay all you have to do it the bare minimum.

Staff and teachers are better than most schools...but...they do allow a lot of bullying, especially from the athletes. They also go to great lengths to cover up what really goes on in the school...like kids bringing guns to school...and the public isn't informed...hush hush....when push comes to sho...

I graduated on June 8th of 2012. I attended McKay my entire 4 years of high school and i can honestly say that it is not a dangerous school and that its just like any other school but the public is just always looking at what we are doing and publicize us more that the other high schools because we...
