GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

I love McKinney North, it is a safe place for students to be at and the teachers are mostly nice and understanding. North is a fun place to be at!

The school is very big and kids aren't really held accountable. Only the kids in afterschool activities were watched by coaches to monitor grades and drug usage. They did have random drug dogs come to the parking lot but there was always kids bringing in substances to the classrooms. There is enough kids causing problems that teachers have choose not to engage. The administrators have a good approach for children by protecting them and the guidance counselors are great in teaching and redirecting life skills if the behavior makes it to this chain of command. There was dance battles in the hallway and students had the space to be creative as individuals but overall the direction was up to the individual student.

My experience at McKinney North High School has been nothing short of impressive and rewarding. The level of dedication and commitment the staff has towards its students has been such an impactful part of my education and learning. I have complete confidence leaving McKinney North and going into college because I know I have been afforded an excellent education and been taught the importance of hard work and dedication.

I have had 3 students attend MNHS. They each have had what they have needed to be successful adults. They have been in golf, band and basketball. They have had teachers that have become lifetime role models for them. I teach in Frisco and keep my children at MNHS in McKinney ISD.

North is an outstanding school with the best teachers! Smaller classes and caring teachers make it a great campus. Great opportunities for students despite the district not always providing equally due to its smaller size. Wouldn't want my kids at any other high school in McKinney!
