Excellent teachers. Very involved parents. Not at all overcrowded. Beautiful grounds. Competitve gifted education program, yet the general ed program gets the same content as the gifted program, except in mathematics. Gifted program starts in grade 3 with testing offered in grades 1 and 2. Averages around 22 children in each class. Many classes have special education support teachers and instructional assistants.

The teachers are a diverse range of people. They have a variety of different teaching styles, but all the teachers go through the material and more. The grading can sometimes be inconsistent, however. Most of the teachers clearly love what they do and are able to communicate with their students well.

We continue to be impressed with the direction of the school. Our children are loved and cared for. You can tell entire staff cares for them. Churchill is a great school from top to bottom. We love the new principal and have had outstanding teachers for the vast majority of my kids time there. My only gripes stem from the ‘equity’ nonsense that allows for schools in wealthier parts of FCPS to pack classrooms up to 30 kids in a classroom -...
