GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Overall, my time at Mercer High School was not a bad one. It is a tiny school that does affect what students can be offered regarding resources for academics, extracurriculars, and college readiness. My graduating class had only 75 students. The teachers have changed a significant amount in recent years. The ones remaining do seem to care about their students and teaching.

My experience here has been good overall. The only thing that I would change is that I would allow for more opportunities to advance my knowledge.

I have attended Mercer since 3rd grade. I enjoyed going to school here, although teach graduating class is not very big. For graduation this year we are having 63 students walk across the stage. I would like to see more options for elective classes. I wish we had the options to take more languages. I also wish there had been a class that taught you about life skills you will need after graduation such as house payments and taxes.

Terrible administration! Starts at the very top and funnels the whole way down! NO consideration given to input from parents. If you don't agree with administration, you are shut down! Politics rules over concern for students! DO NOT choose Mercer School District for your children! There are many be...

Abysmal is the first word that comes to mind when speaking of Mercer High School. This school is focused on sports and test scores. There is no pride in hard work or academic accomplishments. There are a few wonderful teachers in the High School, but only a few. The rest are unprofessional, unmotiva...
