Nestled next to the highly popular Eastmark Great Park, BASIS Mesa is a tuition-free public charter school serving students in kindergarten through twelfth grade in the East Valley area.
Since 1998, this nationally recognized school has won countless awards, led by a mission to inspire a love of learning. So when it comes to academics, you shouldn’t be surprised to learn that students at BASIS Mesa often earn among the highest test scores in reading and math in the entire state, and the school often ranks among the top 5% of schools in Arizona and the country.
Here, students start with a curriculum founded in science, technology, engineering, and math at an early age. And to help all BASIS Supernovas become more well-rounded, the school elevates the liberal arts and integrates modern languages like Mandarin Chinese to better prepare students for the 21st century. Plus, seniors also get a jump-start on higher learning through their BASIS Diploma Senior Project, where students individually research, collaborate with faculty or experts, and present a topic similar to a thesis.
And to help students find their passions, BASIS Mesa also offers a variety of extracurriculars, ranging from dance and band to coding and soccer, and hosts a calendar of fun events throughout the year to foster lasting memories.

The academics are incredibly strong. With a focus on AP coursework, the school does well in preparation for college-level courses. The sports program has slowly been growing, but I hope to see more interest given to the development of Arts and Music programs.

Great school. If you are on top of your academics, you will make it through each grade with no problem. I would rate Basis Mesa a 10 out of 10 and would highly recommend. This was the best thing I could have ever done for my kids. Here I know that their future is set.

This school is on top of it! We have communication with the teachers after every test, so kids don't get behind. Most all of the teachers really connect with the kids. My kids are not gifted in any way but are doing very well in this school. I'm so glad they are at BASIS Mesa!
