Located in the quiet Mesquite Canyon residential community, Canyon Rim Elementary serves children in pre-kindergarten through sixth grade as part of the Gilbert Public Schools District.
Here, at the home of the Cougars, the faculty and staff strive to empower students with the skills and knowledge they’ll need to be successful in the 21st century. Outside of a core curriculum, students at Canyon Rim can take special classes in music, art, library, and physical education, on top of learning computers and how to manage technology.
When it comes to performance, students earn tests above the district and state averages in math and reading, helping Canyon Rim to rank among the top elementary schools in Arizona. And at the individual level, students who shine in the classroom are rewarded through the school’s Cougar of the Month program, which often includes pizza parties and school-wide recognition.
Depending on their grade level, eager Cougars also can explore school clubs including oceanography club, yearbook club, running club, or choir. And through the district’s enrichment program, they also can pursue interests in a variety of extracurriculars, ranging from dance and music to science and Young Rembrandts, among others offered seasonally.
And to help every Cougar enjoy being a kid, the school hosts fun runs, book fairs, special breakfasts, spirit days, student musicals, and plenty of events throughout the year to inspire the community at Canyon Rim Elementary.

For the 6th grade teachers I don't know how y'all teaching and getting good ratings especially in math. For the math teachers! How come y'all can't send examples on how to do the math for my kids I don't get it. And I'm not good in math and I hate math.

Wonderful Teachers in our experience. It’s sad that the principal cares more about numbers than the kids. Had some awful experiences with him. There is little to no support for kids with learning disabilities. Took over a month just to get a response from a single email at a time.
