Highland Junior High School is a public school in southeast Mesa, Arizona. Students in seventh and eighth grade develop into scholars and active members of the community by studying a STEM-based curriculum with real-world applications. Offering a Gifted, Talented and Creative program, the seeds of academic excellence are nurtured and grown to promote successful future transitions to high school and higher education. An Honors Program is also available.
Competitive sports play a large role in keeping kids active and promoting teamwork. Students can join softball, volleyball, basketball or track and field teams or participate in dance or cheerleading. To encourage logical thinking, Highland Junior High School has a chess team. Tech and Code Clubs spark the interest of aspiring computer science professionals. The school’s National Junior Honor Society chapter helps acknowledge students’ academic excellence.
As a member of the Gilbert Public Schools District, students move forward to Highland and Gilbert High Schools. The district also offers virtual classrooms and accelerated programs.

I liked Highland Junior High because of the teachers there. They were all very knowledgeable and caring. They seem to really care about student success and I felt safe there.

One of the better schools I’ve been too but like a lot of the staff is really scary and sometimes I just really wanna die during the school day because of all the kids but yk. <3333. also I can’t rlly say anything abt the disabilities but I’ve seen the ones who do need help get help so yeah.
