GreatSchools Rating

Source: GreatSchools
GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Throughout high school here, the administration has always made students and parents aware of what happens at Milan High School. This has not only helped me throughout the years, but also prepared my parents for what was needed. Some of my classes were not as great as others, but I was able to manage and push through.

I liked how every teacher is welcoming. We have an awesome principal, and she would do anything for us. I get dress coded at least three times a week even when I am actually in dress code. Every time I get asked to change I have to miss at least 15-30 minutes of my education to find clothing.

Milan is quite an interesting school. I believe it is a well balanced school in terms of minority groups and majority. The courses and teachers are basic at best, with the school's highlight being its athletics, which are typically basic or below basic. Like most other small southern towns, MHS pours all funding into its football team, rather than educational needs such as a science lab.

Lol no. It sucks so bad here. Don't come. The education system here is so bad. Great teachers are fired while the terrible ones stay. Bringing your kid here wouldn't be good for their self esteem either. It's brutal. Trust me, this is all around not a good idea.
