This kindergarten through sixth grade private school is an alternative for West End residents with younger children. Tuition starts at $6,895, or $5,355 for active parishioners, and the Good Shepherd School does offer financial aid. For preschoolers, tuition is based upon how long a parent would want their child at the school, with five full days of preschool coming in at $8,755, whereas two full days is only $3,914. Besides a standard education, the Good Shepherd School offers extracurricular activities such as band for fourth through sixth graders, Chess club, and Lego robotics. Here, fourth through sixth graders are inspired to create and program their own functioning robot, and in turn encourage their education through fun activities such as these. When it comes to outdoor activities, the Good Shepherd School has a full playground along with a giant sandbox for children’s imaginations to run wild in. There’s also a basketball court and a Free Little Library for students to exchange books with each other. Education at a young age is crucial in a child’s development, and the Good Shepherd School is certainly able to provide the learning that West End parents want for their children.
