GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

My experience as a senior at River Valley High School was a change of pace from my previous high school years. I did all of my previous high school years online. Since it was my first year of public high school, I didn't quite know everything I had to do at first. However, the faculty members at the school provided me help along the way. It was generally a good experience and I don't have any real complaints about the school.

I have gone to this school now for 4 years, and it has really fluctuated for me. As Class of 2024, I was a part of the "Guinea Pig" year; so the majority of my years were entirely different from one another. River Valley has a hard time holding teachers, so my learning style has had to change majorly over all 4 years. River Valley has an outstanding sports program, holding several year long titles, and many All-Star athletes. River Valley also has amazing CTSO programs. I think the major thing that needs to change is the way students behave; but of course there isn't too much to do about that.

River Valley did not have a diverse student body, did not believe in LGBTQ+ inclusivity, was more interested in sports than it's arts programs, and did not help prepare me for college.

My experience at this school, for the first month at least, has been a roller coaster of sentiments, mostly hatred, melancholy, and a little bit of whatever pleasure or joy you can get from a low grade, low effort in giving a feeling of security, school. Every school in this vicinity provides a sens...
