My experience at Monterey High School has been centered around improving in the field of STEM. It offers a good variety of clubs and if you choose your schedule correctly you will have teachers that will support you in your path. What I would like to see change is a better culture at school for sports and also a better district administration that lets us have funding for the programs we want to participate in.

The vast amounts of extracurriculars is amazing. However, because there are so many options, and many of them take up the entirety of a students free time, the chances of any one extracurricular having a good amount of members is low; I suppose this is a good problem to have. The staff and teachers are amazing, and the music department is great. If I could change one thing, I would remove the flex period, as it is mostly a waste of time where people just play pickleball for an hour.

The school had a dedicated staff and decent academics, but could have improved in college readiness as a lot of alum have struggled throughout their time in college.

horrible and i cannot wait til she's out of there. She's in the MAOS program so the classes are decent. But that's it. The school is run down and disgusting but they just sunk a bunch of money into the football field and are giving kids chromebooks. I'd rather see the school improve overall then dol...
