GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Monticello's a pretty small school that is into school activities along with grades. I like that there aren't too many kids that go there so you can get to know everybody, but I would like to see the "clicks" change a little bit.

I like the people at Monticello. Being in a small school there are many benefits to knowing everybody and participating in everything and anything you want. When struggling in a class it is easy to get help because of our numbers. Some things that are hard is our poor funding. As a result we have a torn up track and many of our supplies are old. One of the things that irritates me is that we do not have some of the best teachers or programs. This is caused by the lack of competition for jobs. Overall the small school can be beneficial in many ways but at the same time it can hold back a student from reaching the best potential.

Small, close community. There's a place for everyone. Most of the sports programs are good, but the wrestling team is great. If athletics aren't your thing, there's a pretty good theatre program.
