The teachers are really passionate and good at their jobs. Sadly the teachers and school don't have much funding, as for more then 20 years the tax rate for the school budget hasn't increased and as such, many good teachers are leaving to find a more liveable salary. Also, not many new teachers are incentivized to work at LPHS, so less classes are being offered, classes are being joined, and online classes are used as an insufficient substitute.

I thought that the campus was very nice. Administrators were very kind and helpful, however counselors were clueless and lazy. Most teachers were easy going enough, and the amount of homework was fine, if not too much. I felt that there wasn't enough freedom. Out of 4 electives, 2 were taken by mandatory classes, one was taken by a foreign language, and one was taken by a religion class. So none of my electives were just for me.

The school is overall well put together with many teachers who are caring and willing to help. However the social climate of the school is very underwhelming.

Safety is my concern. The safety officer is more concerned about his popularity than serving as a safety officer. Please staff with an experience officer versus one who has shot two boys. The officer couldn’t protect himself! He uses his weapon.

The school social worker is known as the town gossip and not well respected. Please investigate before D 38 lands themselves in court as a result of her actions.

Some of the administration and teachers truly care and others (Chris Kintz) would rather win the wiener waving contest than do what is right for kids.
