DuPont Elementary School is a public school in the Metro Nashville Public Schools system located in the historic village of Old Hickory. Serving students from pre-kindergarten through fourth grade, DuPont Elementary is truly a neighborhood school that maintains a strong connection to the community. DuPont Elementary has a dedicated staff that encourages young children with programs to help them lay a firm foundation for educational excellence, with character education taught throughout the curriculum. They participate in the district-wide Encore program for gifted and talented students and offer extra help to those who need it in their after-school tutoring program. DuPont offers book clubs to inspire students to become lifelong readers, an honor choir for those who like to sing as well as Spirit Nights to build a sense of pride and community. School spirit gets a definite boost with a little help from DuPont the Dog, the school mascot and lead Bulldog that reminds kids “Paws-itive attitude, Paws-itive results”. That sentiment fits in well with DuPont Elementary School’s vision: Learning Today, Leading Tomorrow.

When we enrolled our son for Kindergarten we lived close by. Shortly after we moved right outside downtown Nashville. We initially decided to send him to the new school for 1st grade but we were so happy with this school and our son's experience with his teacher that we chose to make the sacrifices...

I would give this school negative stars if I could. My daughters were physically assaulted by a much bigger boy, and the principle, Ms Hoskins has done nothing besides suspend him from the bus for a week. It is a horrible school, and we are looking for an alternative to get them moved asap. If you w...

Our Family relocated to Davidson County schools just this year. We are very satisfied thus far. However I wish that,as all parents do, that we could do more to raise the "bar."I feel my son could be challenged more. Having said that I do really love his teacher. She is so focused and it shows!
