The Uptown campus of Audubon Charter School serves children in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade. The Lower campus, located at 428 Broadway Street, and the Upper campus, located at 1111 Milan Street, are both connected to one of the best schools in New Orleans. It began in 1981 when four teachers decided to open their own Montessori school, and it didn’t take long for the institution to find a home in the city.
At Audubon Charter’s Uptown campuses, students are encouraged to grow academically and as citizens in a rapidly changing world. A focus on creative problem-solving abilities, intrinsic motivation, and collaboration are designed to help students prepare for high school and beyond. An emphasis is also given to the arts, and children on both Uptown campuses have the option to enroll in theater, music, and visual arts courses. The school truly offers something for everyone to enjoy.
The school currently enrolls more than one thousand students and has a student-teacher ratio of 16:1, a statistic nearly half that of the Louisiana average of 31:1. Audubon Charter also offers daily transportation to and from campus as well as before and after school care. For those interested in club sports, the school has teams for basketball, soccer, cheerleading, and volleyball.

My daughter is in Kindergarten this year. This is her second year in the French program. I loved her teacher last year and so far I am loving her teacher this year too. She loves school and speaks very highly of her teachers which is the main goal at this age. I expect her to meet or exceed all of the learning objective for this school year.
