Bishop McManus Academy is easy to overlook. Hidden near Interstate 10 in the Little Woods neighborhood of New Orleans, the school is indeed small, enrolling less than 150 students. However, its small population is exactly what sets this institution apart from the rest. Individualized learning and one-on-one time are normal at Bishop McManus since the student-to-teacher ratio is eight-to-one, and that’s been making a difference in children from pre-kindergarten through grade eight since 1975.
Bishop McManus strives to educate children to find creative solutions through critical thinking skills not just teach them to memorize. The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools has accredited Bishop McManus, and it has been approved by the Louisiana Department of Education. The school is also a part of Cognia, a global association of educators dedicated to continually improving its schools through professional learning, accreditations and certifications, and student and faculty services.
The co-educational institution offers sports and fine arts. In sports, students can choose from cheerleading, cross country, baseball, flag football, basketball and volleyball. In the arts, extracurriculars include drama, film school and foreign languages as well as student council, yearbook and biddy basketball games.

BMA is an incredible institution of higher learning and Christian education. I attended Bishop McManus Academy from 1st grade - 12th grade and I loved it. I am proud to call BMA my Alma Matter. I am now married with one son who also attends BMA.
