Found at 9501 Grant St. in the Little Woods neighborhood of New Orleans, this suburb is home to ReNEW Schaumburg Elementary. Part of the ReNEW Schools charter network, Schaumburg Elementary strives to create a learning environment where academic prowess and maturity can thrive. It works to achieve this through the teaching of empowerment, excellence, integrity, joy, growth and grit. By combining the techniques, the school hopes to prepare students for success in any high-performing high school in the country as well as for future leadership skills. ReNEW Schaumburg enrolls over 800 students and has a student-to-teacher ratio of 20-to-1. The school joined the ReNEW charter network in 2013 and serves children from pre-kindergarten to grade eight. Co-educational Schaumburg Elementary offers team sports including flag football, step team, basketball, football and cheerleading. It has transportation to and from campus each weekday and before and after care as well. ReNEW Schaumburg acts on its responsibility to the Little Woods community by building strong relationships between students and neighborhoods. The school focuses on a curriculum geared toward science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Overall, ReNEW Schaumburg Elementary is an institution dedicated to cultivating creativity and curiosity into lifelong learning.
