Additionally, the school offers over 20 different AP courses, through which students can take an exam for and potentially earn college credits. One unique program the school embraces is the House program. Students at the school are assigned to one of the four house teams of endurance, integrity, ambition and courage where they participate in team building and other activities to compete versus each other throughout the year. In addition to the steller academic programs at the high school, there are several extracurricular and athletic programs as well. Extracurricular programs include anime club, art club, debate, Jazz band, National Honor Society, student newspaper and much more. Athletic programs at the high school include soccer, volleyball, cross country, basketball, track and field, bowling, swimming, softball and baseball.

Overall, Science Park provides students with an immersive, STEM-centered high school experience. Students are well equipped with many classes to achieve a variety of different interests and credentials are available as well.

Science Park High School is a very diverse school, allowing students to connect with others, and their cultures, traditions, and more. By reinforcing the use of uniforms and IDs we are preparing for the future, and for college. We are ready to be professionals and college students in some time from now.

The best part of Science Park is that my daughter found a community of educators who saw the best in her and pushed her to be her authentic self. The worst part is that sometimes the rules held students back from feeling like they mattered. One change I would like to see is the school be lead by a leader that has an open mind and who will work will all students to create a school where students want to come to school not because they have to but because they know they matter. I would also change the uniform rule at least by the time students are seniors. Seniors should be allowed to make choices that encourage them to start thinking about becoming adults. I don't feel like this was encouraged in the school. I feel that students should have more say in how the school is run and the leaders should learn to trust them and be there to guide and support them.

I am proud to be a Science High Alumni (Class of 95). I can only pray that this school continues to maintain its excellent rep. May the students continue to excel and not fulfill the stereotypes that comes along with the city of Newark.
