Menchville high is a wonderful school filled with teachers and staff who really care about their students and the future success both in and outside of the classroom. Unfortunately, every year seems to yield a new controversy that tarnishes the schools reputation. There is occasional violence within the school, but I don't feel threatened by it, as it is usually a dispute between students then quickly shut down by security. On a positive note, MHS has the best school spirit in NNPS and more students than not love to be apart of the Monarch Pride.

Menchville High School is one of the best Newport News public schools. The administration there now how to handle things. The after. School activities are great well organized and safe.

I have been completely impressed with Menchville High School! It is scary sending your 1st kid off to high school but, after 2 years of Menchville HS both academically and with sports I can only say Great things. This school has something for everyone to excel in!
